Arthur McKay

Anne is writing a biographical* memoir of the Canadian visual artist, Arthur F. McKay.   Stories begin in the 1700s with the first Scottish McKay, a Hudson Bay Company man named John; they continue through Arthur's life to his death, August 2000, and beyond to his family and the present.

Arthur was born in Nipawin, grew up in Winnipeg and Prince Albert, studied art in Calgary; while making his amazing paintings, he worked for many years in the Visual Arts department, University of Regina, and with Ken Lochhead started the always controversial Emma Lake Artists Workshop.
